Katherine Litwack was born to a Jewish family in the Bryn Mawr/Wynnewood area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,[1] where she was raised. Her mother, Ellie Litwack, is a poet. Her brother, Geoffrey Litwack, writes a blog.Dennings keeps a series of video blogs on YouTube. She has also been writing her own personal blog since February of 2002. She is a self-proclaimed lover of baby animals, Shojo manga, and cheese. She is an avid reader, and is friends with author Andrea Seigel. She is also a huge Steve Martin fan.
In 2005 she dated Ira Wood (brother of Evan Rachel Wood), whom she brought to The 40-Year-Old Virgin world premiere. In 2007 she began seeing Criminal Minds star Matthew Gray Gubler.
